Welcome if this is your first time & if you’ve been before, I’m so glad to have you back.

Today we have our Newsflash, which has some interesting revelations. And also the topic is all about Vitamin A our No 1 Antioxidant, so please keep watching.

I do apologise for missing a session, but it will now be explained in my

NUTRITION NEWSFLASH
💚👻👀💜
1) During the hot weather, people experience all kinds of reactions. I had a bad reaction to something that caused my lips to swell. I know this seems to be the in thing, that people are paying to have done, (you know), having your lips pumped full of chemicals, which by the way has a bad reaction on you later in life.
– Maybe they should find out what my secret is, which could be a more natural, safer & healthier alternative & cost them a lot less than what they’re paying now, I’m just joking.
– This has happened to me a few times already, and does come under the heading of “Allergies”,
Therefore, I was not able to do my recording.
So if you’re asking! how am I now,
I’m fine as you can see, but in one of my sessions to come, I will share my personal story, which is what led me to start this series on Nutrition. So watch this space.
That brings me to the next point, the Sun.

2) We experienced a few very hot days last week.
so I would advise, now that lockdown has been lifted, that the next time we have beautiful weather, – make the most of it.
– Spending between 20-30mins (20mins for light skin & 30mins for dark skin), in the sun between 11am-1pm, with at least your face and arms exposed, (before you put on Sunscreen),
gives you between 10,000- 25,000iu’s of Vitamin D3 from the Sun, compared to the measely 1,000iu’s you get in a supplement form, or even less from food. Then you can put your Sunscreen on.

The next point:
Social Distancing :
3) Also due to the very hot weather, thousands flocked the Beaches of which it became impossible to maintain the social distancing. That is why if you are continuously taking a good Multivitamin Supplement, along with the additional garlic, ginger, lemon and honey as mentioned in one of my previous episodes, you will have built a strong immune system, and not live in fear of any virus that comes your way.
– the flu virus alone was reported by the BBC to have caused around 50,100 excess winter deaths in England and Wales in the year 2017-18 – the highest since the winter of 1975-76.
And that’s the end of my NUTRITION NEWSFLASH.

So on to Today’s Focus, which is all about VITAMIN A

WHAT IS IT? :
Vitamin A is a fat-soluble nutrient which is stored in the liver.
The body gets part of its vitamin A, from the intestine
beta carotene and other Carotenoids in fruit and vegetables, and also part comes from animal fats.
– Vitamin A is present in the body in various chemical forms called Retinoids, and is so named, because the vitamin is essential to the health of the Retina (as in the eye).
– also, Vitamin A is known as the moisturising vitamin. It is essential in keeping the mucus membranes moist.
– the mucous membranes are the membranes
that line the nose, mouth, eyes, throat & your private parts. {{[rectum and vagina]}}

A DEFICIENCY IN VITAMIN A:
– Can cause mouth ulcers,
– poor night vision/night blindness and even total blindness.
– Also you will have lowered resistance to infections therefore leading to Frequent Colds and Infections, Skin disorders, dandruff, Thrush, Cystitis and Diarrhoea.
– Milder cases of a Vit A deficiency does occur in the elderly, and Infections such as Pneumonia can deplete their Vitamin A stores.
– It can also cause Acne, that you see a lot in teenagers & Youths, (so please Youth, ask your parents to buy you a good Multivitamin, and give it 3 months. AND please take it. Don’t have it sitting on the shelf like my daughter did when I gave it to her.
– If that doesn’t work on its own, then start taking Vitamin A as well the Multivitamin.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF VITAMIN A?
We have just heard what a deficiency will cause, therefore the opposite of a deficiency is what produces the benefits, for example
– good eyesight
– helps with acne
– psoriasis or other skin conditions
– gastric ulcers
– as well as Vit C, Vit A also helps prevent the common cold and types of flu and other types of infections.
– it also reduces complications from measles
– it helps to build a strong immune system
– and is vital for growth
– and most importantly, it helps to enhance the effectiveness of chemotherapy, when the body has good levels of vitamin A.
