Dr. Carrie Waterman, Moringa Scientist & Nutrition Researcher: Davis, California

Dr. Carrie Waterman is an interdisciplinary research scientist at the intersection of nutrition, agriculture, health, and sustainable development. She received her PhD in Pharmacognosy and spent the following years as a post doc in understanding the use of plants for human health. She was a Fulbright scholar and professor at the University of Nairobi, Kenya and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa. She is currently funded on a NIH Fogarty International K01 grant as a Professional Researcher in Nutrition at UC Davis and a Visiting Scientist at the World Agroforestry Centre Nairobi, Kenya. Her work involves using the moringa plant as a tool to address African global challenges including food security, improved nutrition, preventative healthcare, environmental integrity, economic opportunities, and innovative solutions. She is a scientific consultant for Kuli Kuli and other moringa companies. She also holds a patent on moringa processing to harness bioactive compounds that has been licensed to Estee Lauder for skincare products.

Pamela Anyoti Peronaci, Kuli Kuli Supplier & Social Entrepreneur: Soroti, Uganda

Pamela is an impactful social entrepreneur and Kuli Kuli Moringa Supplier. Pamela works in her home country Uganda where she connects farmers and women’s coops with sustainable moringa farming. Pamela’s journey intersected with Kuli Kuli when she returned to Uganda after receiving her master’s degree in the UK. Pamela sought to build bridges between farmers and consumers. Farmers were producing but lacked the resources to get their products into the right hands. Today, Pamela’s efforts have supported over 11,000 farmers, a majority of whom are women. Pamela started the successful non-profit, Asante Mama, as a way to train farmers in sustainable and organic practices. Asante Mame enriches the livelihoods of farmers by offering an ethical supply chain for teas, spices, and cocoa.

Rachelle Robinett, Clinical Herbalist & Holistic Health Coach: New York City, New York

Rachelle Robinett is a Holistic Health Practitioner, Certified Herbalist, and Founder of Supernatural – a plant-based real-world wellness initiative.
