A 50-year-old woman was diagnosed with Covid-19 and hospitalised in South Korea in late February before spending 16 weeks on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) support. Doctors treating her said her lungs became as hard as rock which left them with no option but to do the transplant.
