Here’s a three-pronged approach to stay strong and healthy at home:

STEP #1: Lifestyle. Make sure that you make self-care a top priority every day. Be sure to limit your stress as much as possible. Turn off the TV and get moving. Aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise at home, even with no equipment, 5-7 days per week. Adopt a sleep routine that allows 7-8 hours of sleep per night. These lifestyle habits lay the foundation for a strong immune system and a healthy body that fights infection.

STEP #2: Nutrition. Exercise doesn’t counteract a bad diet. Your nutrition is essential in burning fat, building muscle and keeping you healthy. A diet high in healthy protein, fruits, vegetables and the right macronutrients is key to overall health. Just because you are stuck at home doesn’t mean you can eat whatever you want all day long. Stay away from the fridge and the pantry between meals.

STEP #3: Hydration. This is often overlooked, but proper hydration is the key element to a well-functioning body. Water delivers vitamins, minerals and nutrients to every cell in the body. Without adequate hydration and the right electrolyte delivery system, your body doesn’t get the nutrients it needs to recover from illness or infection. Shockingly, 75 percent of Americans are chronically dehydrated which means they are suffering from stubborn weight gain, low energy and a range of other issues. Adopt healthy hydration habits by drinking water all day long.
