Interview with Dr. Joy Kumar Chakma in Chakma Language on Coronavirus. He is a Public Health Specialist & Epidemiologist, working as Scientist ‘E’/Deputy Director General with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the apex biomedical research body in India.
He has graduated in Medical Science (M.B.B.S) from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi and did his post graduation, M.D (Doctor of Medicine) in Community Health Administration from the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi under the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi.
Dr. Joy Kumar Chakma has 19 years of experience in his profession and research and has published 30 research papers in National and International Journals of repute.
He is the lead Scientist of ICMR White paper on “Electronic Nicotine Delivery System” (popularly known as e-cigarette), which has been recently banned by the Government of India.
He was awarded with ‘Outstanding Scientist Award’ at the Venus International Research Meet in 2015 at Chennai.
Ven. Priya Pal Bhikkhu, Chief Monk, Chakma Buddhist Temple, Bodhgaya, Chairman to Chakma Buddhist Foundation and Social Activist. He is also an RTI activist and fighting for legal rights for the Chakma tribals in India.
Sunil Kumar Chakma is a young and new generation lawyer from Arunachal Pradesh state.
