The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the lives and livelihoods of people right across the world. Throughout this global crisis, the research expertise that exists in universities has been critical to understanding the health and economic impacts of the virus – and in developing a safe and effective vaccine, as a cure for the crisis.
In this webinar, we ventured behind the scenes of UQ’s COVID-19 vaccine project, to learn more about the development of this promising vaccine candidate and the next steps towards manufacturing.
We also explored how our global community of ChangeMakers have stepped in to support UQ’s research and community outreach during the pandemic – from mental health intervention, to providing meals, emergency accommodation and financial grants to the most needy in our community.
Hear from UQ Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Deborah Terry AO, Director of UQ’s COVID-19 vaccine project, Professor Trent Munro and the Deputy Executive Dean at UQ’s Faculty of Medicine, Professor Stuart Carney with host Ms Jennifer Karlson (Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Advancement).
