I have heard that Vitamin C is good for recovery after a workout. Is there any truth to it?

Yes – vitamin C fights inflammation and can help with recovery. That being said, too much of a good thing is not a great thing. Mega doses from vitamin c supplements have been shown to actually decrease endurance. Therefore, choose food sources rather than supplements for maximum benefit: papaya, bell peppers, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, strawberries, etc.
