A vitamin A deficiency can be the result of:

Vegetable oils, processed foods, poor conversion of beta carotene to Vitamin A (retinol), lack of protein intake, lack of absorption due to gallbladder issues or insufficient pancreatic enzymes can all contribute to vitamin A deficiency.

A low vitamin A status can increase the risk of respiratory illnesses and infectious diseases.

Illness can also deplete our vitamin A levels.

This is why it’s important to support our bodies with vitamin A so we don’t prolong our illness or we don’t open the door for another illness.

Vitamin A is also critical for mobilizing and releasing iron from the liver.
It’s also needed for transporting iron to tissues that are in need of iron.
