[Music] what’s up everyone my name is Pete nastasi I’m a certified Sports Nutrition coach and today we’re going to be talking about the best vitamins for energy [Music] for the most part the vitamins that are going to help for energy are going to be the B vitamins and what these vitamins basically do is maximize the amount of energy that we’re able to extract from the foods that we eat for the B vitamins you are actually going to get a lot of them from animal products primarily vegans and vegetarians might need to supplement with vitamin B12 because it’s actually pretty difficult to get that in a natural source another vitamin that in fact most people are deficient in is going to be vitamin D and that actually plays a pretty key role in Energy and Metabolism as well the most natural source and I think most people know this is going out in the sun anywhere from about 10 to 30 minutes and you should be in a pretty good spot for vitamin D and if you are deficient in Vitamin D it has been shown to increase your levels of possible depression fatigue feelings of lowness in general a supplement that contains either vitamin D2 or D3 might be helpful for giving you that energy boost that you need as well let’s also talk about how vitamins and minerals might affect your sleep right because we all know if we get good sleep the night before we likely have more energy the following day the research basically says anywhere from you know seven to nine hours is going to be really beneficial so two supplements that people usually take zinc and magnesium so both of these supplements specifically magnesium have been really shown to help you fall asleep a little bit faster stay in that deeper level of sleep for a longer amount of time and a lot of people have experienced significant benefits here and they wake up feeling more rested AKA having more energy the following day there’s really no downsides to taking these products as long as you’re not overdoing it I always like to say look at your lifestyle factors first before you look towards supplementation are you eating a nutritious diet are you exercising are you getting high quality sleep if you are experiencing fatigue or low energy levels throughout the day then some of these multivitamin supplements might be right for you foreign
