A new clinical trial has shown that daily supplementation with 2,000 IU of vitamin D3 may help slow cellular aging. This is due to its ability to reduce the shortening of telomeres, the protective caps at the end of our chromosomes. Participants in the study lost 140 fewer base pairs of telmer length over four years, which equals about three fewer years of biological aging.
