When we were first getting information out of South Africa, we were getting anecdotal evidence saying that hospitalizations seem to be less unless it was children. We reminded all of you that this isn’t great quality data. And though we were hopeful, we weren’t holding our breath. A good thing we didn’t hold our breath. Research published from the UK yesterday indicates that there’s no difference in severity there from Delta to Omicron. Researchers themselves have been reminding us that even this data is preliminary and really not enough information to determine the course of where we’re going. It also shows that two doses of vaccination is not enough. Already kind of knew that. Well, natural immunity is not so good.
