If you’re curious about how to grow healthy, long, strong hair, I’ve got five of my best and favorite supplements for hair growth. Okay, let’s start with number one is a high DHA fish oil. Now, this is important that DHA dosaexoninoic acid is that important omega-3 fatty acid that as humans we don’t make. It’s something that we actually have to get from our diet or from a high quality fish oil supplement. And some fish oils are actually higher in this DHA, which is so important for the growth and for the sheen, the beauty, and the strength of your hair. So, find a good one. Okay. Number two on my list is collagen. And not just any collagen for hair growth. What I have found works the best is a grass-fed boine hydrayed collagen. And this type of collagen has that rapid absorption. It’s easy on digestion, so great for your digestive tract and isn’t going to cause any gas and bloating, of course, from grass-fed cows. And this is important because the quality of that collagen is going to determine how well your body is actually absorbing that collagen to help to fortify your own collagen, whether that’s in your skin, but also for your keratin levels for that beautiful hair. Okay, number three on my list is protein. So, a lot of people are actually protein deficient. you’re not getting enough of absorbable protein in your diet. And by supplementing sometimes with a high quality whey isolate, so 100% whey isolate protein powder. This is a great way to fortify your own protein levels. Of course, we need that protein for that proper hair growth. So, you can look for a good one of that. Okay. Number four on my list is to support your thyroid. Now, if your thyroid function is in fact low and you have hypothyroidism, of course, one of the first symptoms that you’ve noticed is that your hair is falling out very easily. So, by supporting your thyroid gland, this is a great way to maintain that proper hair growth and to stop it from falling out. And there are different supplements to help to support your thyroid. Of course, looking for a natural one is something that you’re going to want to do. And number five on my list, another great supplement for that hair growth is iron. So if you know or maybe you don’t yet know that you may be iron deficient. This is really important. We need to have enough of that absorbable iron again. So increasing iron foods in your diet, whether that’s figs or prunes. It could be of course red meat and animal products that are high in iron, but also making sure that maybe you do need to supplement with an iron supplement. Looking for an iron bis glycinate is my favorite type because again it’s very gentle on digestion. It’s not going to cause constipation, which is one of the big drawbacks with most conventional iron supplements. So, this is something also that you need to optimize your iron levels because that is one of the major causes for hair loss that you may not have realized.
