I wanted to give you peace of mind that with all the fear involved with COVID-19, that there are great studies coming out of China, Japan, and South Korea of the effectiveness of vitamins C on the coronavirus. I have attached a quick video that describes a recent post on my story about the healing of individuals with this virus.

From the video, the doctor is stating that patients with COVID-19 were administered 5000-20,000 mg of Vitamin C a day. He states that the average patient would respond and recover 4-6 days quicker than the average patient who did not receive the Vitamin C. At one point he states that a severely sick patient was administered up to 50,000mg of Vit. C IV drip and the hospital staff could see the blood oxygen levels rise…IN REAL TIME.

The anti-viral activity of Vit. C has well been documented. It can help ease our minds that when we take simple steps taking vitamins, we can help strengthen and support our immune function. It was encouraging to me to hear that from China, they are seeing great results and healing individuals with nature’s anti-viral. In South Korea, where my mother is from, they are seeing great recovery rates from administering vitamins and natural herbs along side western medicine. They are reports that less than 1% of the COVID-19 cases that were documented resulted in fatality. I am sure there are other health and medical intervention involved, but from the study, the significant change in recovery time appears to be from simple Vit. C. Be encouraged, keep your mind from fright and take your vitamin C!

And the work of biochemist Linus Pauling with vitamin C has often been overlooked. The results he found through research on the immune system is so encouraging. Check him out!

Also, wanted to mention vitamin D. I am going to attach a great article from PubMed that shows the effectiveness of vitamin D on the immune system. From previous posts, we have discussed how the Vitamin D Receptor(VDR) on your cells is responsible for attaching to vitamin D to bring it into the cells. If you don’t have enough receptors because of genetic variants, then your D levels will be low. This can result in decreased immunity. So, in a nutshell, let’s find the proper combination of Vit. D and K…and if needed have a healthcare professional check additionally if vitamin A and E are needed as well. They all work in good combination to fight off viruses and increase the immune.

Relaxation:

One of the greatest influences on our immune system and overall stress response is the ability to RELAX. There are two great books that I scan often, “The Relaxation Respone” and “Relaxation Revolution” by Herbert Benson, M.D. These books review the body’s two ways of responding to stress…with the sympathetic nervous system or the parasympathetic nervous system. Sympathetic is your high alert state, while the parasympathetic keeps you calm and in a peaceful state. Through Dr. Benson’s research he found that simple deep breathing and sitting in quiet were the quickest ways to produce a parasympathetic state. These have been well documented with thousands of studies at Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Increasing your relaxation state, according to the studies, increase the thickness of cortical regions in the brain, slows the heartbeat, and decreases blood pressure. They later found that relaxation and mindfulness techniques changed the expression of genetic defects within just an 8 week period of time. One of the main gene expressions changed was that of overall inflammation. And this inflammation can wreak havoc on the immune system, leaving it compromised and open to infection if not monitored. The results of increased immune function because of increased parasympathetic activity is impressive.

When you are relaxed, you prevent your body from firing too much cortisol and adrenaline. This keeps blood sugar in check, inflammation low, and your antibodies in good health. The effect is a body prepped to fight off infections, and the immune system on high alert.

* Benson-Henry Protocol
* Step 1-Pick a focus word, image, prayer, or phrase…or even focus on your breathing.
* Step 2-Choose a quiet place to sit comfortably.
* Step 3-Close your eyes.
* Step 4-Relax all your muscles from top of head down towards the feet.
* Step 5-Take deep, slow, natural breathes. When you exhale focus on your word, image, etc.
* Step 6-Have a passive attitude toward intruding thoughts, let them slide by…go back to your focus.
* Step 7-Continue for 10-15 minutes.
* Step 8-Do this once daily.
