It’s common to make a New Year’s resolution to be more physically fit. If you’re looking to enroll in a gym but aren’t sure where to start, read on for a few area options.

All right: This isn’t necessarily a hyper-local option, but the ever-growing international chain has a big footprint in the area that can come in handy if you’re traveling around the Northwest. (If you have a membership, you can work out at any location, no questions asked.) It has locations throughout the Eastside, a good selection of machines, classes, and personal trainers.

Those wanting their gym experience to be a little more luxurious might want to check out the Bellevue Club, which doesn’t just have a generous array of machinery and classes to pick from, but also restaurants, tennis courts, and a spa.

A community staple for more than 40 years, the local gym, which has branches in Bothell, Redmond, and Issaquah, has something for everybody: conventional workout equipment, and also a sauna, a designated hot yoga area, hydromassage machines, a pickleball and basketball court, a pool, a “Kids Klub,” and virtual options for those who can’t make it in person every time they’d like to sweat the day off.

Mt. Si Sports + Fitness aims to be inclusive to everybody, noting on its website that it wants to serve your needs whether you’re a seasoned athlete or somebody simply wanting to make a change. It has personal-training availability, group-fitness classes, yoga, and more. Its yoga studio and group fitness space can also be rented for $35 an hour.

This Redmond fitness center is most dedicated to body conditioning and weight training at affordable rates — about $200 for the year.
