UNDATED (WKRC) – A supplement was recalled due to potentially dangerous ingredients that could cause “life-threatening events.”

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Modern Warrior has issued a voluntary recall of its dietary supplement, Modern Warrior Ready, after regulatory testing revealed the presence of undeclared ingredients, including tianeptine, 1,4-DMAA, and aniracetam.

The recall affects all lots of the product, which was sold directly to consumers nationwide from April 2022 until Dec. 8, 2025.

Tianeptine, one of the undeclared ingredients, poses serious health risks, including life-threatening events such as suicidal ideation or behavior in individuals aged 25 and younger, according to the FDA.

Overdose risks include confusion, seizures, drowsiness, dry mouth and shortness of breath, which can be worsened by alcohol use. Additionally, combining tianeptine with monoamine oxidase inhibitor antidepressants could lead to severe complications, including stroke and death.

The presence of 1,4-DMAA in the supplement can elevate blood pressure and potentially lead to cardiovascular issues, such as heart attack, shortness of breath, and chest tightening. Products containing synephrine, another ingredient, may result in increased heart rate and blood pressure, especially when combined with caffeine.

The recalled product was available for purchase online and distributed in a black plastic bottle with a black screw-top lid, featuring a black and gold tamper-evident shrink wrap. The label displayed the Modern Warrior logo in gold, with the product name “Body Repair Plan” and the word “READY” accompanied by a sunrise icon and the phrase “Mental Clarity.”

Modern Warrior has ceased distribution, removed the product from sale and quarantined all remaining inventory. Consumers who have purchased Modern Warrior Ready are advised to stop using the product immediately.
