As the 6-12 grade physical education teacher at Lake Mills, I work with students in middle school physical education (grades 6-8), high school physical education (grades 9-12), middle school weight training (eighth grade) and high school weight training (grades 9-12). The program is designed to expose students to a wide variety of skills, movements and activities that promote lifelong fitness, overall wellness and a positive relationship with physical activity.

Throughout the school year, students participate in diverse units that focus on motor skills, teamwork and individual growth. These units have included heart-rate and health education, basketball, football, volleyball, yoga, cooperative games, handball, hockey, soccer, net sports such as badminton and eclipse ball, team skill relays, cornhole and modified kickball activities. Looking ahead, students will also experience units in dance, wiffleball, ping pong, pickleball, golf, aerobics and outdoor activities such as ladderball, spikeball and bocce ball.
