You don’t have to go behind the scenes at a runway show to spot the best Dior products—they’re some of the most coveted beauty staples out there. While most well-known for its couture heritage, Dior’s beauty line arrived almost immediately after its debut collection in 1947, starting with Miss Dior, whose early success set the stage for a full expansion into makeup and skin-care essentials.
From mascaras to blushes to highlighters, Allure editors have tested a wide range of Dior beauty products over the years. While they’re certainly not cheap, these standouts earn their statuses as some of our favorite, glow-boosting formulas that we reach for every day.

Why it’s worth it: Dior’s Backstage Glow Maximizer Palette is the kind of multi-use makeup that will seriously upgrade your look. Each of the five palettes houses four shades that can be used as blush or highlight, or swirled together for a custom cheek topper that looks like you spent way more time getting ready than you actually did. The powders are ultra-fine and pearlescent (not glittery!), so they melt into skin instead of sitting on top of it. The best part? That fresh, healthy glow stays all day without veering into shiny territory.

“A palette that moonlights as blush, highlighter, and shimmery eye shadow? Dior is speaking my language—and beauty routine. Especially now that the days are shorter and I’m letting way less sunlight, I will gladly take whatever radiance boost the Backstage Glow Maximizer Face Palette provides. Highlighter often looks obvious and chunky on my skin, but Dior’s is so finely milled that it has a very subtle (though buildable) finish on my skin. I love mixing the pink and gold shades for a blush-highlighter effect, and I often use it as eye shadow to make the look more cohesive. The customizable is really the charm, and who doesn’t love options?” —Sarah Han, commerce editor

Why it’s worth it: As effortless as swipe-and-go, Dior’s Addict Lip Glow is basically the cool-girl upgrade of Chapstick. You can choose Universal Clear for invisible hydration, or pick from 20 other shades, from sheer reds to rich browns. Each hue reacts to your lips’ natural pH, revealing a one-of-a-kind color every time. The formula is loaded with nourishing cherry extract and shea butter, so your lips stay hydrated without the sticky weight of a lip gloss. Light, versatile, and endlessly wearable, it’s the kind of balm you’ll want to stash everywhere—from your desk to your purse to your nightstand—to keep winter dryness at bay.

“This is my all-time favorite lip product. It really feels like a moisturizing balm—so light and hydrating. It looks like a gloss, but without being too shiny, and it isn’t sticky at all. The shades range from emphasizing your natural lip color to being more bold, like this one I’m wearing here (Berry). Plus, the packaging is so chic with a satisfying click closure. I’ve truly never tried anything else that I like as much.”—Ingrid Fowler, senior art director

Why it’s worth it: Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation is basically skin care dressed up as makeup. The formula feels plush and hydrating, thanks to botanical extracts like iris, wild pansy, hibiscus, and nasturtium. Shade-matching is also a breeze: The lineup spans a generous range, each anchored in one of Dior’s six signature undertones—neutral, warm, warm olive, warm peach, cool, and cool rose. As far as coverage goes, this radiant base looks like your skin but better, so you never have to worry about it coming across as thick or cakey. And while the built-in SPF 15 is a nice little bonus, we always encourage you to apply a standalone sunscreen first with at least SPF 30 for proper UV protection.

“With dry (often flaky) skin, I’m not a foundation-wearer. Instead, I prefer skin tints, tinted moisturizers, and the like—but if I ever do need foundation, Dior’s Forever Skin Glow in 30 Warm Olive has been my go-to for years. It’s everything someone with dry skin would want out of a formula: breathable, doesn’t seep into fine lines or accentuate dryness, and leaves you with a subtle dewy finish that’ll trick anyone and everyone into thinking you were born with richly hydrated, plump skin. It has also never bothered my facial eczema throughout my years of use, which is a huge win.”—Shanna Shipin, senior commerce director

Rouge Dior Forever Liquid Sequin Duo
Why it’s worth it: Available in 10 shades, the Dior Forever Liquid Sequin is anything but a standard liquid lipstick. One end houses a velvety-matte formula that goes on like a smooth second skin—but wait one minute, and then the real show starts when you press your lips together. A veil of glitter suddenly appears, and the more you smush throughout the day, the brighter the sparkle gets. On the other end is a clear gloss designed to dial up that shimmer even more.
We tested the original Liquid Sequin before Dior revamped it into this two-in-one duo, and our initial concerns (glitter fallout and gritty texture) never materialized. The color stayed put through lunch and came off with zero drama once we hit it with a cleansing balm. It’s not necessarily an everyday staple, but when your party mode is activated, this formula delivers. And honestly, the upgraded gloss-plus-liquid combo makes it even better because it’s the only lip product you’ll need to carry in your bag.

“I rarely find a beauty product that quite literally takes my breath away. After all, the influx of products that come to my door every day is intense—so when something lands, and I’m shaken by it, it means something. And at first glance, the liquid lipstick seems like a normal lip product…except that it transforms into a glittery finish once you press your lips together. You might be thinking, ‘That’s not possible,’ but folks, the sorcery is real.”—Angela Trakoshis, former shopping market editor

Why it’s worth it: Dior’s J’adore L’Or is a gorgeous fragrance for anyone who likes a scent that balances notes of florals and citrus. Notes of orange blossom, rose, and jasmine combine to create a botanical hit that calms down as it dries, transforming into a subtle burst of warm freshness that lingers all day. We like to call it “summer in a bottle,” and we always reach for it when we’re craving a warm day.

“I can’t remember a time when my perfume collection didn’t have at least one bottle of J’Adore Dior. I started adoring the scent, as one typically does, via its original version. Released in 1999, the OG J’Adore blends solar and floral notes, including ylang ylang, rose, and jasmine. Its iconic bottle looks like it’s wearing a golden Dior necklace, and it didn’t hurt that my idol, Charlize Theron, was the face of the scent for some 20 years.”—Jenny Berg, contributor

Why it’s worth it: This 2025 Best of Beauty Award winner is basically a gloss-lipstick hybrid. It glides on like a classic bullet but feels extra cushiony and balmy once it hits your lips, thanks to hydrating and plumping peony extract and pomegranate flower extract. The slim, skinny tube is surprisingly practical—the smaller tip makes it easy to trace your shape before filling it in, no lip liner required. With one quick swipe, this little bullet drops rich, opaque color in 10 ultra-flattering shades that look good on every skin tone. It’s effortless, it’s chic, and it nails that glossy-lip-without-the-stickiness finish.

“Look, I love lipstick, but I can’t say I always look forward to wearing it, knowing how it’s going to look and feel a few hours after I apply it. This is especially the case for satin formulas, which move around more than most. That’s not the case with this unbelievable formula. It feels so plush and hydrating, I actually can’t wait to put it on. And because it’s inspired by liquid lipstick formulas, you don’t have to worry about it sliding off your lips every time you take a sip of water or have a snack.” —Sophia Panych, contributing writer

Dior
Diorshow 24h Buildable Volume Mascara
Why it’s worth it: Dior’s Diorshow 24H Buildable Volume Mascara is one of those rare formulas that goes the distance—think a full day of wear with zero flakes or smudges that manages to slip off at night without requiring waterproof-level elbow grease. That easy-wearing vibe is just part of its charm, makeup artist Jenny Patinkin told Allure. Besides classic Black, it also comes in a bright Blue that’s “so subtle you don’t notice it from far away, but closer up, it really brightens the eyes and looks flattering on all eye colors,” she says. Patinkin used to swear by the now-discontinued Maron shade, but Brown is just as beautiful.

How we test and review products
When Allure tests a product, our editors look at it from every angle in an effort to best serve you. We review ingredients, scrutinize brand claims, and, when necessary, examine peer-reviewed scientific and medical studies. In addition to testing each and every product that’s included in each and every review, we rely on experts who shape their fields, including dermatology, cosmetic chemistry, and medicine, to help us vet the ingredients and formulas.
For our list of the best-smelling body lotions, we considered each product’s performance across five primary categories: product ingredients and efficacy, packaging, fragrance, texture, and product wear. Every product was determined to have excelled in each category by our editorial team of in-house writers and editors, as well as contributors, along with special consideration from dermatologists. To learn more about our reporting and testing processes, read our complete reviews process and methodology page.
Our staff and testers
A beauty product is a personal purchase. You might be searching for a face cream to address persistent dryness or a new nail product to add to your Sunday self-care routine; you may simply be browsing around for the latest launches to hit the hair market. No matter what you seek or your individual needs and concerns, Allure wants to ensure that you love anything we recommend in our stories. We believe that having a diverse team of writers and editors—in addition to the wide range of outside testers and industry experts we regularly call upon—is essential to reaching that goal.
After all, can we really say a skin-care product is the “best” for people over 50 if the only testers we’ve solicited opinions from are folks who have yet to hit 30? Can we honestly deem a high-end diffuser worthy of your hard-earned cash if it’s never been tested on curls? We’re proud that our staff spans a wide range of ages, skin tones, hair textures, genders, and backgrounds, which means that we are able to fairly assess any beauty product that comes into the beauty closet.
