Nearly 30 health and fitness vendors will pack the Baylor Club on Saturday morning to help Central Texans reach their fitness goals

WACO, Texas — The first Waco Wellness Festival is happening Saturday morning from 10 am to 1 pm at the Baylor Club inside McLane Stadium.

This event offers free entry and will host almost 30 fitness vendors and local businesses from across Central Texas. They will be offering free healthy food samples, workout classes and fitness giveaways throughout the three hours.

The day will also include testimonials from motivational speakers and local fitness leaders throughout the festival.

Chelsea Pinion from Anytime Fitness Waco and Val Jones from Stretch Zone Waco South came up with the idea to motivate the Waco community. According to the CDC, 80% of premature heart disease and strokes are preventable. That alarming number inspired the duo to launch the festival.

“That’s our goal is to help people get those 80% of chronic diseases under control,” said Pinion.

The pair also said their own fitness journeys inspired them to guide others who are starting their journeys.

“We both have been on our wellness journey and we want to help showcase other business in town because when you start you can be so overwhelmed. Having support can be the best thing for that,” said Jones.
