Onelife Fitness is pressing on with plans to develop more health clubs in the Birmingham area.

The company opened its first Alabama club in McCalla last year, the $10 million Onelife Fitness McCalla at Tannehill Promenade.

A $14 million second location at Lee Branch is currently under construction in the 68,000-square-foot building that was formerly the site of AMC Classic Lee Branch 15, which closed last year off U.S. 280.

Last year Onelife Fitness announced it is planning at least six health clubs for the Birmingham area.

In a recap of the company’s national expansion in 2025, Onelife said that its “future plans for additional clubs in the Birmingham area are in development.”

“At its core, 2025 was about meeting people where they are in their fitness journeys – creating a true third home for our members while delivering premium experiences at unmatched value,” CEO Ori Gorfine said.

“In 2026, we will continue to listen and respond to public demand for more Onelife Fitness locations. That translates to upgraded experiences across our organization, renovating and expanding existing clubs with more recovery amenities, strength equipment, and elevated studios and locker rooms while building new clubs across the East Coast.”

Founded in 2011, Virginia-based Onelife Fitness has more than 70 locations open or in development in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, West Virginia and Alabama.
