Martinez was found dead in a white SUV outside the Aveda Institute on Tuesday afternoon.

Her ex-boyfriend, 25, who had allegedly been stalking her before the attack, turned the gun on himself moments after killing Martinez.

He was taken to a local hospital in a critical condition where he later died.

“We are heartbroken that our daughter was taken from us,” the aspiring cosmetology student’s parents said in statement to NBC 6.

“We take solace in knowing she celebrated life to the fullest while she was with us, and we find comfort in believing she is now at peace.

“We condemn the violence and stalking that led to this unimaginable loss.

“No parent should have to bury their child, and no one should ever live in fear for choosing to walk away from a relationship.”

A memorial was quickly set up in her honor by heartbroken friends in the beauty school parking lot.

Harrowing 911 calls from the shooting just after 2pm reveal how the murder in broad daylight was clearly seen by witnesses.

“Hurry, could somebody please bring a cop, somebody got shot at the Aveda Institute on University,” one woman said in a 911 call obtained by NBC 6.

“We don’t know exactly what’s going on, we’re inside the building, we heard gunshots outside, one of the students went outside, said that they saw someone with a gun, pointing at a car and they’re also saying they passed by the car and there’s a dead person laying down in the car.”

Two nearby schools were sent into lockdown after initial gunshot reports.

Officers with the Davie Police Department confirmed that the 25-year-old man who turned the gun on himself, had been in a relationship with Martinez previously.

A motive for the murder-suicide is still under investigation.

Rachel Tracey, a close friend of Martinez, has set up a GoFundMe page in honor of the aspiring salon owner to pay for funeral and burial arrangements.

She detailed how her friend was “taken from her family in a sudden act of violence” and shared how Martinez had studied music at Miami music school for four years and loved performing with local bands.

Martinez is survived by her parents as well as her brother, 17, and sister, 10, with whom she was “inseparable”.
