A Florida beauty school student was killed by her ex-boyfriend in an apparent murder-suicide.
The victim, identified in a GoFundMe as Aileen Martinez, 20, was shot and killed outside the Aveda Institute in Davie, Fla., on Tuesday, Jan. 24, police said, per NBC 6, WPLG, and CBS Miami.
Police did not release the identity of the shooter, but said he was a 25-year-old man who was previously in a relationship with Martinez, according to CBS.
The man died at the hospital from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the outlet reported.
Martinez’s family said in a GoFundMe that she had been studying cosmetology at the Aveda Institute.

“She also studied at a Miami music school for the past 4 years, frequently performing with bands at local events,” the organizer wrote.
The GoFundMe has already raised more than $50,000 for her family’s expenses in the wake of Martinez’s death.
“She loved rock n’ roll, thrift shopping, playing computer video games and discovering new makeup tricks,” the organizer said. “Her favorite color was jade green, which is fitting because it symbolizes peace & calm and love & harmony, all traits that represent Aileen.”
Martinez was the oldest of three siblings, and played in bands with her brother.
