Snap’s latest U.K. opening offers a glimpse into how the 24/7 gym model can evolve, pairing round-the-clock access with boutique programming and recovery

Gyms with 24/7 access don’t have to offer stripped-down amenities or a trade-off between convenience and quality, according to Snap Fitness.

The mid-priced fitness franchise has opened its latest club on Chancery Lane in London next week, proving just that, with a new model that offers the best of boutique fitness, group training and recovery.

For Peter Dhillon, the 12,000-square-foot club marks his seventh Snap Fitness franchise location, designed to give members a completely different 24/7 gym experience.

The space is outfitted with cardio, free-weight and strength-training zones featuring equipment from Life Fitness / Hammer Strength, Escape Fitness, Booty Builder, Wattbike and more, eight Pilates reformer beds with 24-hour access and more than 800 on-demand classes, as well as group cycling.

On the recovery front, the new club includes a recovery lounge with compression boots, massage chairs and massage guns, infrared saunas and a cold shower for contrast-therapy fans, featuring brands like Therabody and Sunlighten.

While on-demand class offerings are available, the location will also host more than 40 instructor-led group exercise classes per week.

“From Reformer Pilates and group cycling to strength training and dedicated recovery facilities, everything has been created to support a wide range of member needs,” Dhillon said. “Whether someone prefers to train at 6 a.m. or midnight, they will have access to the same premium facilities and a supportive environment to train, recover and progress.”

Memberships are offered on a month-to-month basis, priced at £69.99 ($95.8) per month, with a one-time £5 sign-up fee. A discounted student membership is also available for £59.99 per month.

Snap Fitness EMEA CEO Kevin Yates said the Chancery Lane model signals an elevation of the 24/7 gym experience.

“We are showing that round-the-clock access and premium, multi-modality experiences can be delivered without the usual premium price tag,” he said. “This site demonstrates how we’re taking the category to a new level to create a genuine wellbeing destination, not just gym access.”
