Question: I’m really trying to work on keeping my Type 2 diabetes under control by exercising, taking my medications and counting carbohydrates, but some days my blood sugar will run high no matter what I do. What could be causing this?
Answer: Your blood glucose (sugar) can be affected by things other than food… for example: mental/emotional stress, lack of sleep/fatigue, illness, and even some medications like steroids can cause your blood sugar to be elevated. Be sure and talk to your health care provider and see if your medications need to be adjusted and what may be causing you to have issues with your blood glucose.
