GRANGEVILLE — Local athlete Christine Hauger is putting Grangeville on a national stage as she competes in the Ms. Health and Fitness cover contest, a nationwide competition that wraps up Feb. 5. Hauger was selected to advance to the current round, where contestants from across the country are vying for a coveted magazine cover spot.

The competition is driven largely by social media engagement and public voting, making support from the community a key part of the journey. Hauger said the field is highly competitive, but she’s motivated by more than just the title.

“For me, it’s about promoting health, fitness and sharing a unique story,” Hauger said. “It would be pretty cool to get Grangeville on the map in that way.”

“My entire life, 57 years and still going strong, I have lived health and fitness, and help others do the same,” said Hauger.
