Sage & Salt‘s personal fragrance business is getting a smoky third addition.

Called Sacred Ember, the brand’s new scent, is meant to mimic smoke cleansing rituals from global cultures and was nosed by independent perfumer Sarah Horowitz. Preorders for the scent will start Friday for $195.

The fragrance opens with bergamot, pink pepper and cardamom; features heart notes of tobacco flower, vetiver and patchouli, and dries down to base notes of cashmere wood, palo santo, incense, leather, oud and cade.

Much like the brand’s first dip into personal fragrances, founder and self-described intuitive strategist Corbin Chamberlin has also performed protection rituals on the raw materials used.

“The first scents were surrounding the moon and the idea of rituals around the moon cycle. Sacred Ember comes from the idea of daily protection and grounding,” Chamberlin said. “Sacred Ember is a scent that captures a few holy smokes from around the world and cultures, and I wanted something that people could spritz on themselves and extinguish negative energy anytime they wanted.”

While those two fragrances are meant to be used in tandem with new and full moons, Sacred Ember is more universal. “I wanted a scent where, in these uncertain times, people could anoint themselves and remind themselves that they are to focus on protection, grounding and being present,” Chamberlin said. “I think our base customers are going to lose their minds over it, but I think the scent itself is going to resonate with a broader consumer.”

The launch, which dovetails with the brand’s recent expansion into Australia with Mecca, represents further growth opportunities, Chamberlin said. “We are definitely looking around. Mecca has been a phenomenal partner and we’re excited to see that relationship grow, and the call from Asia has been nonstop.”

Although tariffs disrupted previous expansion plans in the geography, “this year, we’re going strong in Singapore and Japan, and we’ve begun negotiations with distributors for key accounts,” he said.

Chamberlin declined to comment on sales, although industry sources estimate Sage & Salt’s personal fragrances to reach between $2 million and $5 million in 2026. He did say, however, that the brand was resonating strongly.

“There’s a trillion fragrance brands, and a million of them claim to have energetic associations. But people are interested in founder stories and I believe the consumer is leaning smaller as far as who they’re buying from,” Chamberlin said. “People are very interested in the narrative, who they’re giving their money to, more than ever. My point of view, as a founder, is that I want to honor that.”
