INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis-based activewear brand Meraki Fit has partnered with Blockhouse Fitness to launch “Built By Her,” an initiative featuring women-focused fitness programming and a collaborative apparel collection. The partnership is designed to provide a safe and inclusive environment for women to train and connect.

The collaboration debuted during a recent community event that offered free training and collected donations for the Salvation Army. The initiative follows the rapid growth of Meraki Fit, which began five years ago as an apartment-based operation and has since expanded into a community-driven athletic brand.

Luis Martinez founded Meraki Fit in a small apartment using a $200 screen printer and online tutorials. Five years later, the brand has grown into a full athletic apparel company and fitness movement based in Indianapolis. The company emphasizes purpose, discipline and self-belief.

The Built By Her event was organized as a free community experience aimed at addressing gym-related anxiety and body image concerns. Participants were encouraged to bring donations for the Salvation Army. The event focused on creating a welcoming environment for women of all fitness levels to train together.

Brigid Murphy, a personal trainer with Blockhouse Fitness, worked with Meraki Fit to lead the session and emphasized the importance of cultivating a supportive atmosphere for participants. She said the goal was to create a safe and comfortable space where women of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels could work out together, achieve their goals and embrace their femininity.

The partnership also marked the debut of a new activewear collection designed for women. Karen Duarte, who leads the women’s division at Meraki Fit, said the line was created to function for both gym workouts and daily activities. The clothing is made from thick, breathable material and includes features such as side pockets for mobile phones.

In addition to apparel, the collaboration includes the “Muscle Mami’s” program, which uses a mobile app to provide structured workout plans and form instruction.

The app features demonstration videos from Blockhouse trainers and includes a chat function for participants to connect. Murphy said the program offers an alternative to unrealistic fitness trends often seen on social media and focuses on evidence-based, practical and affordable approaches for everyday people.

Blockhouse Fitness is scheduled to host a Summer Shredding Transformation Challenge from March 2 and May 25. Viewers can use the discount code “Meraki50” for the Muscle Mami’s program.
