In New York, temperatures have recently dipped below freezing, and the streets are filled with people wearing scarves of all kinds. While a scarf will always be a staple fashion accessory to combat the cold, Christian Siriano is introducing a novel concept: wrapping your own hair around your neck.
For the uninitiated, the “Olsen tuck,” popularized by none other than Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, is where you tuck your hair into your sweater or coat, and it’s been a winter styling trick among the well-dressed fashion set for years. The next iteration might just be the Siriano tuck, which stylist Lacy Redway crafted on models for the designer’s fall/winter 2026 show. Redway says that by transforming the hair into an avant-garde accessory of sorts, the models leaned into surrealism.

“As New Yorkers, we know the inside the jacket hair-scarf moment,” Redway joked backstage. To create something that felt both polished and effortless, Redway used the TRESemmé All-In-One Style Primer to add heat protection and moisture before rough-drying the hair. “We want the hair to have natural texture and flyaways,” she said, noting that this undone vibe is a marked departure for the house, which typically sends models down the runway in tight ballerina buns and sleek styles. After drying, Redway sectioned the top part of the hair from above the brow bone to a low ponytail, creating an anchor point at the nape of the neck with an elastic. Then she crisscrossed the hair left on either side of the face in front of the neck and fastened it at the back into the ponytail. To finish the look, Redway spritzed TRESemmé Dry Texturizing Spray to lock everything into place.
Next time you find yourself braving the cold but don’t have a scarf to match your outfit, try using your own hair. It’s the Siriano way.
