Some fitness influencers show you the best workouts to incorporate in your everyday life. Others share their recipe secrets to keep you in a calorie deficit. And then there is Sivan, who does all that plus shows you how to do a neat trick if you happen to have saline breast implants like she does. She’s truly a Jill of all trades.
She shared a TikTok video where she shows how to do the trick with nothing but a flashlight and her own implants. It’s a different kind of video than her usual fitness inspo, but also kind of amazing. Who knew there was another use for implants besides being shown off in low-cut tops and sports bras?

Sivan doesn’t waste time in her TikTok showing the fun side effect of having saline implants. She goes into a darkened room and says, through text on the screen, “Was today years old when I discovered my [implants] have a night mode.” Then, she shines a phone flashlight on her breasts and, sure enough, they light up like red orbs. Will they act as a beacon of light to get her out of situations where she might be in the dark? Eh, probs not. But it’s a strange phenomenon that not many people knew of before now. Also, like, is she OK?
One user commented on Sivan’s video with, “They come in glow in the dark?”
Another user who also has implants added, “I just tried this and mine don’t do this…perplexed maybe because I’ve had them for ten years.”
Others wrote that, sometimes, it’s OK to leave Tiktoks in your drafts and not everything needs to be shared. I mean, fair enough. But people still love the idea of this strange side effect of some implants.
“Girl thank you for sharing!” A woman who plans to get her own procedure added in the comments. “When I get mine done I’m going to ask to make sure they have night mode!”
I don’t think it works like that. However, a doctor on Instagram did note that certain implants have this effect because of what they are made of. While silicone probably doesn’t have this same effect, he explains in his video that saline implants do. It’s because they are liquid and the skin is stretched, which means light can pass through more easily. I bet you wish you paid attention in physics back in high school, huh?
But the effect could be a sign that the implants are too big for the patient, even if Sivan’s appear to be totally natural-looking for her size.
The doctor on Instagram explained in the caption of his video, “Since they’re filled with salt water, if the skin is stretched thin, light can actually pass right through. While interesting to see, it’s also a sign the implants may be too big for the body’s natural support. In my practice the goal is [to] balance choosing an implant size that works with your anatomy for results that stay beautiful, natural, and healthy long term.”
