DEKA, the decathlon of functional fitness and hybrid racing from the creators of Spartan, has announced its official launch in Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). DEKA Switzerland and DEKA UAE join a rapidly growing global network, including established markets in the US, Australia, Canada, China, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and UK.
DEKA Switzerland joins the global network under the leadership of the Gorilla Corporation team. While Spartan’s outdoor obstacle races are set in iconic scenic locations like Verbier and Ste Croix, DEKA Switzerland will offer accessible, all-year competitions through gym-hosted challenges such as DEKA STRONG, MILE, and ATLAS, alongside arena-hosted DEKA FIT events, making participation easier for everyone.
The expansion into the UAE is led locally by the ITP Media Group team, one of the largest media companies in the Middle East, with a portfolio of over 80 brands. DEKA will make its Middle East debut with a launch event on March 28 at Skydive Dubai, giving athletes in the region the first opportunity to experience the format in a live competition setting. The inaugural UAE event will introduce the DEKA FIT format, featuring ten functional fitness zones. Participants will have the option to compete individually or in two-person teams.
Spartan is is the world’s largest obstacle course race and endurance brand, with more than 250 events across more than 40 countries on six continents. These events attract more than one million annual participants across all fitness levels, from beginners to elite.
