In bombshell legal papers, Teresa Reveles Muro claims Leonard “Lenny” Simmons, 77, has squandered $2 million in a “litigation war” against her and now Richard’s assets are nearly “depleted.” The two are co-trustees of the estate and Teresa is asking the court to oppose Lenny’s request that an impartial special administrator be appointed to help resolve their differences.

According to her complaint, the estate had $7,173,992 in brokerage accounts, along with anticipated earnings of about $6.5 million from the sale of Richard’s Hollywood Hills home.

At that point, there were “sufficient assets to pay all reasonable expenses” and “make specific distributions in the Trust, while leaving a significant balance to be divided among the three residuary beneficiaries, which include Leonard and Teresa,” the filing states. “However, due to Leonard’s improper conduct, the brokerage account has been depleted to the point where even after selling the residence, there may not be sufficient assets to pay the specific distributions.”

Lenny has countered by filing a supplemental petition to remove Teresa as the co-trustee because of her “lack of cooperation and intransigence.”

As National Enquirer readers know, Richard’s striped gym shorts, an estimated $1 million worth of jewelry, song lyrics he composed for a musical, and other sentimental items vanished shortly after the Sweatin’ to the Oldies legend died at age 76 in July 2024.

A steamed Lenny believes Teresa, 74, swiped the keepsakes because she was “upset that Richard named Leonard the beneficiary of his life insurance policy and did not include her,” according to his filing.

Teresa claims Richard gifted her the jewelry and admits grabbing the shorts for “sentimental value” because they and other items were being donated to charity.

In a conciliatory tone, Teresa claims the duo could “carry out their obligations” without a money-sucking administrator.

Although a Los Angeles Superior Court judge appointed Teresa as a co-trustee in December 2024, she says Lenny “continues to wage a litigation war against [her], without her agreement, including continuing to seek to strip her of the lifetime gifts from Richard, despite having no competent evidence supporting his effort.”
