MT. CARMEL – A new salon was officially welcomed into the Wabash County Chamber of Commerce family Friday, as the local chamber hosted a special ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony for the newly opened establishment, Hometown Roots & Beauty.
The business opened in January, and since then shop owner Madisyn Etheridge said that she has tried to have a more balanced schedule with her influx of new customers.
During the special opening, Etheridge’s family and friends showed out in large numbers, sporting shop merchandise with her company logo across the front.
Etheridge spoke about what it meant to see so many people support her and her business, saying that the system around her has been helpful.
“They pretty much helped me build this place from the ground. They have many runs to the store, lots of late nights here helping. And then everybody’s just been so supportive…It’s so nice to have the support. I couldn’t have done it without the support of all my friends and family in the community,” Etheridge said.
Hometown Roots & Beauty offers hair and nail services, pedicures, facials and waxes, and is located at 801 W. Ninth St.
