América head to Puebla on Friday for matchday seven of the Clausura 2026, with several selection doubts after an open training session, according to Americayya.net.

The team have made a slow start, sitting 10th on eight points and currently outside the liguilla places.

There was some encouragement as Dagoberto Espinoza returned to training while continuing his recovery. If everything goes well he could be back in around one month.

Alejandro Zendejas also featured but did not work with the group. He is not yet at 100 per cent, so his availability for Puebla will depend on his progress.

Israel Reyes and Thiago Espinosa were absent from the session. No injury was announced, and the reason for their absence remains to be confirmed.

The fixture offers a chance to reset the campaign and push back towards a liguilla berth while they contest the latter stages of the Concachampions. Kick-off is 9:00pm at the Estadio Cuauhtémoc.
