The reckoning will be beautiful.
Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black Season 2, Part 2 returns on March 19, and the stakes are higher than ever for the Bellarie family. Fall back into their web of sex, violence, and power with the brand-new, explosive trailer.
In Part 1 of Season 2, Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams), the stripper-turned-Beauty in Black COO, had her hands full. After she marries her former client, Horace Bellarie (Ricco Ross), and he installs her as head of his lucrative hair-care company, she wastes no time in putting her business ideas into action. “Kimmie wants to be seen as legitimate. She is done proving she belongs, and she’s claiming her place,” Williams tells Tudum. “Doubt definitely fuels her. The difference now is that she understands the cost of power, and she confidently chooses it anyway.”

The only thing stopping her from leveling up Beauty in Black with money-saving changes is Horace’s bitter brood — sons Roy (Julian Horton) and Charles (Steven G. Norfleet), brother-in-law Norman (Richard Lawson), and ex-wife Olivia (Debbi Morgan) — who refuse to accept that the business they assumed was their birthright is now in the hands of an outsider.

Of course, Kimmie’s most intimidating foe is Mallory (Crystle Stewart), Roy’s wife, who runs the business — well, that is, until Kimmie takes over. Mallory isn’t too pleased about being dethroned, and Part 1 of Season 2, which soared to No. 1 on the Global TV Top 10 List, was dominated by their epic power struggle. “Power changes the rules. As Kimmie steps further into her new role, her relationship with Mallory becomes more complex,” says Williams. “Nothing between them is what it seems!”

But the trailer for Part 2 hints that the dynamic between the two women at the heart of Beauty in Black, Tyler Perry’s first TV show for Netflix, might be shifting. “Mallory and Kimmie will always be two powerful forces in the same room,” Stewart says. “But in Part 2, survival starts to matter more than rivalry. There’s a shift where they begin to recognize that their greatest threat might not be each other. That doesn’t mean trust comes easily, but there is a mutual understanding that changes the game. It’s less about who wears the crown and more about who makes it outstanding.”

“You definitely see a different side of Mallory in Part 2. A more strategic, emotionally layered version of her,” says Stewart. “Her relationship with Roy becomes darker, more complicated, and much more dangerous. Mallory didn’t marry Roy out of weakness; she married him with intention. In Part 2, we really see how calculated she is and how far she’s willing to go to protect herself.”

Of course, Mallory’s marriage drama is the tip of the iceberg of drama that’s to come in Part 2. “Fans should expect secrets to come to light, the kind that change how you see everyone,” says Stewart. “Loyalties are tested, alliances are exposed, and nothing is as clean as it first appears. What will surprise people most is who steps into their power and who loses control. Part 2 is about consequences. Every move, every lie, every choice finally catches up, and Mallory is right in the center of it all.”

As if this roster of characters weren’t shady enough, we meet a new villain, Gina (Jasmine Burke), who threatens Olivia in the trailer. “Everything is slightly out of control this season, I won’t lie!” Williams says. “The illusion of control shatters. Just when Kimmie appears like she’s making progress and at her most powerful, everything is at risk. Nothing comes without consequence.”
