Budget gym chain Crunch Fitness is celebrating the launch of its newest site in New Jersey.

The 25,000-square-foot gym recently celebrated its grand opening at Regent Shopping Center in Aberdeen. Property owner and manager Garden Commercial announced the debut Feb. 19.

Headquartered in New York City, Crunch serves over 3 million members at its 500 gyms worldwide. Within New Jersey, the chain has roughly 30 locations.

The brand offers tiered monthly memberships. Plans start at $16.99 for single-club access, with a $29.99 option that features group fitness classes and the opportunity to visit other clubs. For $34.99 a month, members receive added perks, such as advanced classes and unlimited guest passes.

Franchisee Tim DeLorenzo said the Aberdeen gym “is committed to delivery an exceptional member experience – regardless of where someone is in his or her fitness journey.”

“Our goal is to create a space where people can have fun, feel great and get results from their workouts. We’re excited to be part of Regent Shopping Center and the Aberdeen community,” he said.

The gym is open Monday through Thursday 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and weekends 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Crunch joins the 178,000-square-foot retail property in Aberdeen. The tenant mix also includes Stop & Shop, JAG Physical Therapy, Auto Zone, Mattress Firm, Wells Fargo Bank, Verizon Wireless, Smoothie King and The Little Gym.

Crunch takes over a space formerly occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond. The storefront has remained vacant since early 2023, when the retailer spiraled into bankruptcy.

Garden Commercial Director Michael Gartenberg said his Short Hills-based firm is “pleased to welcome Crunch Fitness.” He added, “Its high-quality member experience and affordable price point makes it a great addition to the property – and a welcome new amenity for those who live and work in Aberdeen and the surrounding community.”
