‘I have seen enough,’ governor’s office posted after video showing musician and health secretary working out
Mr Kennedy and Kid Rock appeared shirtless in the 90-second workout video to promote the “Make America Healthy Again” agenda. They did push-ups in what appeared to be a sauna and, at one point, Kid Rock flipped the middle finger to the camera.
The 72-year-old health secretary completed the workout in a pair of jeans, which he wore while he plunged himself into a tub.
For Mr Newsom, the shirtless workout crossed a line.
“I have seen enough,” the governor’s official press office account posted on X, in all capitals. “As governor of the free world, I, Gavin C Newsom, am officially banning ‘Kid Rock’ from California. His shirtless video with ‘Secretary Brainworm’ was inappropriate, creepy, and very low energy. Not what you want around our children!
“Also, some of the weakest pushups ever witnessed. California only allows winners! I am also banning working out in jeans, very strange!” added Newsom’s team, imitating the style of president Donald Trump’s Truth Social posts.

Representatives of Kid Rock and the Department of Health and Human Services have been contacted for comment.
Mr Kennedy and Kid Rock were widely mocked for the workout on social media, which even had panellists on Fox News’ The Five scratching their heads.
Military analyst for the broadcaster Johnny Jonessaid: “Listen, somebody needs to tell RFK Jr it’s OK to wear shorts. I mean, bro, don’t be upset about your legs.
“I don’t care what they look like. Take it from me, nobody needs impressive legs. You look great with your shirt off. Throw the shorts on so we don’t all go, ‘wow, that’s weird’,” he added.
Mr Kennedy previously said that he started wearing jeans to the gym because it was “convenient” and now he’s “used to it”.
Meanwhile, Kid Rock faced another setback earlier this month when his Rock the Country festival, labelled a “MAGA fest”, was forced to cancel a stop in South Carolina after a number of artists dropped off the bill.
The multi-city festival, which was set to play in Anderson, South Carolina, on the weekend of July 25, announced it was cancelling the event after several performers, including rock band Shinedown, pulled out of the show.
