CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Trying to eat healthier doesn’t always require a doctor’s office visit. For some shoppers, help may be available right at the grocery store.
Kroger now has several registered-dietitian nutritionists available to meet with customers for a virtual consultation. There is no charge for an initial 30-minute consult for customers who are part of Kroger’s loyalty system.

Laura Brown, Kroger’s director of nutrition, said the team is getting a lot of questions about protein and fiber, especially as more people use new GLP-1 weight loss medications.
“We can help you to build your grocery list, build your meal plan, so you can get every single nutrient you really need to be really balanced so we can support you on this incredible life journey that you’ve decided to go on,” Brown said.
Brown said getting key nutrients is critical right now, noting that people taking these medications are often falling below recommendations for critical vitamins needed for everything from bone health to other functions.
Kroger also offers ongoing nutrition counseling, if needed. “We accept many different insurances and most of our patients pay zero out of pocket fees,” Brown said.
For shoppers who use other grocery chains, customers can ask at customer service about whether nutrition help is available.
