Brenda Robinson presented the program “Navigate the Great 8” at the recent meeting of the Heart-N-Hands Extension Homemakers Club. The meeting and Valentine Mailbox Craft were held at the Pursuit Church in White Hall.
Robinson said the eight dimensions of wellness provide a framework for understanding and improving overall well-being, according to a news release.
Dimensions are:
(1) Emotional wellness — focuses on managing emotions, coping with stress, and building resilience for mental health.
(2) Physical wellness — emphasizes maintaining a healthy body through exercise, nutrition, and adequate rest.
(3) Social wellness — involves fostering meaningful relationships and connecting with the community for social support.
(4) Intellectual wellness — encourages lifelong learning and mental stimulation to grow knowledge and creativity.
(5) Spiritual wellness — is about finding purpose, meaning, and aligning actions with personal values.
(6) Occupational wellness — is finding satisfaction and purpose in work or volunteer roles that bring fulfillment.
(7) Environmental wellness — promotes living in harmony with surroundings and supporting sustainability.
(8) Financial wellness — addresses managing money wisely and planning for future security.
Robinson said these dimensions create a balanced approach to health, ensuring that individuals pay attention to all aspects of their lives. Understanding these dimensions helps participants identify strengths and areas for growth, setting the stage for actionable change. She encouraged everyone to take small steps to improve well being and to learn from being around each other.
During the business meeting conducted by President Sandy Smith, community service project chairwoman Nancy Rosen thanked the members who helped wrap presents for the Community Christmas Angel Tree at the Pursuit Church.
