Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has named Simone Biles as its first-ever Global Wellness Ambassador, signalling a strategic shift as the luxury hospitality group deepens its focus on integrated wellness.
Biles, widely regarded as the most decorated gymnast in history, will work alongside the company’s Wellness Board and its network of specialists in meditation, movement, nutrition, sleep and lifestyle performance. Together, they will help shape future programming and immersive guest experiences designed to reflect a more comprehensive view of wellbeing.
“I’m excited to partner with Mandarin Oriental because we share the same belief that wellness is about more than physical performance — it’s about taking care of your whole self,” Biles said.
“Throughout my career, I’ve learned how important recovery, mental wellbeing, and balance are. I’m honored to work with a brand that truly understands and supports that belief in providing guests with holistic wellness offerings.”

She formally stepped into her new role during a visit to Mandarin Oriental, Milan. To commemorate the launch, the Milan property introduced two limited-time offerings inspired by Biles. The “Double-Double Glow” spa treatment combines thermal therapy, targeted massage techniques and advanced skincare technology to promote muscle recovery and radiant skin. Meanwhile, the “Champion Chip” cookie was crafted in collaboration with the hotel’s culinary team.
Alex Schellenberger, Chief Brand and Marketing Officer of Mandarin Oriental, emphasised the broader ambition behind the appointment. “This partnership represents a new era in how we engage with talent, moving beyond endorsement to genuine collaboration,” he said.
“Simone brings credibility, lived experience and global influence to our wellness philosophy. We are excited to elevate the conversation around holistic wellbeing and craft experiences that inspire balance, resilience and purpose.”
As part of the collaboration, Biles and Mandarin Oriental will also support Laureus Sport for Good, reinforcing their shared belief in sport’s power to create opportunity and positive change worldwide.
