“We know that kids who are exposed to a variety of whole foods early in life are more likely to have healthy eating habits as they grow up,” Said Dalia Kinsey, a registered dietician for Bibb County Schools. “Academic success and being well-nourished go hand-in-hand; a hungry child is not a child that’s ready to learn. We want to make sure that the healthy meals we offer are things that the kids will actually eat, so we’re getting their feedback and making sure that what’s on the menu is not onlyy nutritious but something they’re going to enjoy.”

Students also could taste different foods and provide feedback on future menu item options for the District’s school cafeterias.
According to Bibb County School Nutrition, the students are excited to possibly see some of these foods on the menu next year.
