Aveda has collaborated with AeroFlexx to launch a new recyclable refill packaging format for its hair and skincare products.
This initiative will make Aveda the first prestige beauty brand to use AeroFlexx’s global kerbside recyclable refill technology, according to a statement by the packaging company.

The new packaging, designed with a lightweight airframe structure, is said to use up to 70% less plastic compared to two of Aveda’s standard 250ml bottles.
The refill pack is resealable and intended to provide controlled dispensing while supporting an easier recycling process.
The design follows Aveda’s design-for-recyclability principles while maintaining product performance.
Aveda global packaging development director Nicole Call commented: “At Aveda, we believe packaging innovation must advance both sustainability and the guest experience, and AeroFlexx allows us to do exactly that.
“This refill solution reduces plastic while meeting Aveda’s high standards for design, recyclability and performance, reflecting the kind of thoughtful and responsible innovation we’re committed to bringing to market.”
From early next year, Aveda plans to introduce the AeroFlexx refill packaging with select products.
AeroFlexx commercial and business development vice-president Peter Messacar commented: “This partnership demonstrates what’s possible when two organisations with aligned values come together to push the industry forward.
“By integrating AeroFlexx’s packaging technology into its portfolio, Aveda is setting a new precedent for how major prestige beauty brands can reduce plastic and enhance the consumer experience simultaneously.”
In November 2025, AeroFlexx collaborated with Kinetic Vision with the aim of developing new packaging solutions from concept to commercial launch.
Through this collaboration, the companies plan to offer support across ideation, prototyping, testing, and market introduction, focusing on enhancing sustainability, performance, and convenience.
