Morning yoga mats unrolled in the open air. The rhythmic pop of a padel ball on a glass court. First-time boxers wrapping their hands. For one week in March, Otay Ranch Town Center transforms into more than a shopping destination — it becomes a community fitness hub.
The annual “Spring Into Fitness” program returns March 7–14, offering residents free classes, trial memberships and special promotions from 11 fitness and wellness tenants throughout the Chula Vista center at 2015 Birch Road.
“As Otay Ranch Town Center celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026, we are proud to continually provide valuable community offers such as the annual ‘Spring Into Fitness’ promotion and opportunities for our neighbors to try out all the great amenities at our center,” said General Manager Tim Kilcourse.
This year marks the highest level of participation in the program’s history.
“As Otay Ranch Town Center has continued to evolve and grow over our 20 years, so has our unique and diverse list of tenants — Giving our locals lots of options when it comes to fitness, wellness and health,” Kilcourse said. “We have our highest number of participating tenants this year allowing even more residents the chance to try something new.”
The lineup spans everything from dance and gymnastics to strength training and emerging racket sports. ESL Padel, one of the center’s newest additions, is offering free padel play all week.
“The newly-opened ESL Padel is offering free Padel play all week during the event — Padel is definitely hot and this offer is a great way to try the sport out!” Kilcourse said.
Other participating businesses include Namaste Fitness, which is offering a free three-day studio pass; Deseo Dance Studios, featuring complimentary classes; San Diego Gymnastics, with a free open gym visit; and national brands such as Title Boxing, Planet Fitness, Club Pilates and OrangeTheory Fitness.
“Multi-day options such as the three-day pass at Namaste Fitness also offer a tremendous value,” Kilcourse said.
Beyond the free workouts and discounts, organizers say the event is about lowering barriers to entry.
“One of the most common responses we get from participants is their excitement at trying a new fitness or wellness activity with no risk or commitment,” Kilcourse said. “In a time where everyone is closely monitoring their monthly budgets, programs like this offer the chance to try something out without a big financial commitment.”
The program has proven beneficial for tenants as well.
“Each year we do a post-event check in with our tenants and they regularly report an increase in first-time attendees, new signups and overall interest. We are thrilled to support all our tenants with outreach and marketing support to drive those visits,” he said.
Full details, registration instructions and offer specifics are available on the center’s website. Classes and promotions vary by tenant.
As the center marks two decades in the South Bay, Spring Into Fitness continues to reflect its evolving mix of retailers, health providers and lifestyle destinations — inviting the community to move, explore and perhaps discover a new favorite workout along the way.
