President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are pressing for regime change as they advance their war with Iran.
Trump issued an ultimatum to Iranian leadership, commanders and their foot soldiers after the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in the early hours of the Middle East war.
Netanyahu also promised thousands of more bombings of Iran and called on Persians and tribal groups to rise up against the Islamist regime in Tehran.
On Sunday, Trump again called for Iranian military commanders, police and Revolutionary Guard members to give up and seek immunity.
Trump asked Iranians supportive of the autocratic regime and in its security forces to “lay down your arms and receive full immunity or face certain death.”
“It will be certain death. (It) won’t be pretty,” Trump said in his call for Iranian interests to ditch the Islamic regime.
Trump and Netanyahu are encouraging Iranians to rise up against the Islamic Republic regime that has ruled the country since the 1979 revolution deposed the American-backed shah.
“America is with you,” said Trump.
The earliest strikes of the war killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other commanders.
He is the latest leader killed, who were part of the efforts behind the Oct. 7 attacks in Israel.
Israel has killed the leaders of Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon and now Iran’s Ayatollah.
Iran has long supported Hamas, Hezbollah and other militant proxies opposed to Israel and U.S. interests.
The Iranian-backed Assad regime has also fallen in Syria, replaced by more pro-American Ahmed al-Sharaa .
Trump said the U.S. and Israel has hit hundreds of targets in Iran, nine Iranian navy ships have been sunk in addition to the targeted killings of many of the Islamic regime’s leaders.
He said the U.S. is talking to interests inside Iran and contends many in the government are reaching out.
“They want immunity. They are calling by the thousands,” Trump said.
Iran has struck back in the war with missile and drone stikes aimed at Israel, pro-U.S. Gulf states and American military bases.
Three U.S. soldiers have been killed in the fighting, U.S. Central Command announced Sunday.
Trump said those soldiers “made the ultimate sacrifice” and that “America will avenge their deaths.”
“Sadly, there will likely be more,” Trump said during an address on the war from his Florida estate, calling the military conflict a “righteous mission.”
Trump said the war aims to dismantle the Islamic regime and its ballistic missiles and nuclear aspiration, arguing those are “dire threats” to Americans.
“It would allow then to exhort the world to their evil will,” Trump said of an Iran with a robust ballistic missile arsenal and nuclear weapons.
Trump also touted the U.S. military prowess as it seeks to unseat the Islamic Regime.
“The United States has the strongest military the world has ever seen,” Trump said.
The U.S. war attacks with Israel against Iran has support from Montana Republicans supportive of Trump.
On Sunday, Netanyahu also promised more attacks on Iran and urged Iranians to overthrow the theocratic regime.
That included a call to Persians and other groups in Iran to rise up against the tyrannical, Islamic regime.
“In the coming days, we will strike thousands of targets of the terrorist regime. We will create the conditions for the brave people of Iran to free themselves from the chains of tyranny,” Netanyahu said in address to Iranians.
“O citizens of Iran, do not let this opportunity slip away. This is an opportunity that comes only once in every generation. Do not sit idle, because your moment will arrive soon. The moment when you must take to the streets, come to the streets in your millions to finish the job, to overthrow the regime of terror that has embittered your lives,” Netanyahu said.
“Your suffering and sacrifices will not be in vain. The help you have longed for has now arrived. Help has arrived, and now the time has come to unite for a historic mission.
O citizens of Iran, Persians, Kurds, Azeris, Ahwazis, and Baluchis— Now is the time to unite your forces to overthrow the regime and secure your future,” the Israeli prime minister continued. Israeli intelligence agents had success in Iran during last year’s 12-day war that also saw Israeli and American bombings of regime’s nuclear bases,” Netanyahu said.
