LAS VEGAS (FOX5) —Two student clubs at West Career & Technical Academy will host a community arts and crafts event on Sunday aimed at promoting mental wellness and raising awareness of generalized anxiety disorder.
Hope Means Nevada and HOSA – Future Health Professionals will host Craft4Calm on March 8 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at Faiss Park, 7025 S. Fort Apache Road, in Las Vegas.
The event is part of the clubs’ joint initiative, Calm the Chaos, which seeks to raise awareness of generalized anxiety disorder and provide tools to support mental wellness.
Attendees can participate in therapeutic arts and crafts activities, including painting Hope Rocks with uplifting images and messages, making bracelets, bookmarks, greeting cards, and origami art.
Hope Means Nevada’s mission is to eliminate teen suicide and empower Nevada’s youth to live hopeful lives. The organization works to raise awareness of Nevada’s high rates of mental health challenges and connect youth with resources.
