CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – 20 members of Ohio’s law enforcement community participated in the inaugural 2026 Police Plank Challenge Friday.

The contest was held at the University Circle Police Department.
“Staying fit in our line of work is critical, particularly with the rotating shifts and vicarious trauma. Officer wellness is finally being recognized as important and efforts like this help promote healthy cops,” said University Circle Police Chief Tom Wetzel.

Director of Ohio Public Safety Andy Wilson was the winner.

Wilson held his plank for an impressive 16 minutes and 13 seconds.
The top female winner was Cleveland Clinic Police Officer Shannon Darby.
The oldest participant was University Circle Police Sgt. Tim Caine.
