Gazing up at the stars and the distant planets of the cosmos has inspired many to create beautiful works of art.
For Dubai-based jewelry brand Zome, the skies are the muse of its “Celestia” collection.
The 15-piece collection is a tribute to the wonders of the cosmos, using precious metals and gemstones to represent the stars, moon, and constellations.
From Celestia comes the “Solara” earrings, our Piece of the Week.
The earrings “capture the poetry of orbit,” the brand said, with gemstones arranged in an orbit-like design. The pair contains 7.34 carats of aquamarines and tourmalines set in 18-karat rose gold.
“Solara was inspired by the graceful movement of celestial bodies revolving around a radiant center,” said Meghna Biswas, founder and designer of Zome.
“The aquamarine represents the calm brilliance of a guiding star, while the surrounding tourmalines echo the planets in orbit. Together, they form a delicate universe—a reminder that beauty often lies in harmony, balance, and movement.”
The Solara earrings were also one of the first 20 pieces that Biswas launched for her brand in March 2024.
She founded Zome to reflect her fascination with the harmony found in nature and architecture.
With the brand, Biswas seeks to combine artistry with exceptional materials, specifically focusing on colored gemstones like tourmalines and sapphires.
“For me, every gemstone holds a universe within it. Zome was created to honor those rare stones and give them a design worthy of their beauty,” she said.
The Solara earrings retail for $4,750 and are available on the Zome website.
Zome jewels are also available in-store at Poison Drop and Kulture House in Dubai, and the brand is exploring an expansion to the United States.
