WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Saint Patrick’s Day is not until next week, but competition surrounding the holiday was on full display. The Wyoming Valley Mall held a Saint Patrick’s themed pageant on Sunday.
The Sunburst Beauty Pageant is one of the oldest beauty pageants in the world, held across 43 states and around the world. Scoring is based on personality, outfit, and overall appearance.

“I love it. If she’s happy. if she smiles and loves it, I enjoy it,” Richard Schultz, a parent, said.
Organizers say the theme was an easy one with Saint Patrick’s Day next week.
