A local fitness trainer feels the most sustainable path to weight loss may include pills but also strength training and nutrition.
A local fitness trainer feels the most sustainable path to weight loss may include GLP1s like Ozempic and Wegovy but should have an emphasis on strength and nutrition.
Anna McGee of AP Training said strength training and protein intake are the way to go. That will help bring about a goal of 1-2 lbs of weight loss per week.
“I’ve always known that weight loss comes from the top on down. So you can see it in the face in the shoulders and kind of where most women want to lose it kind of goes last,” McGee said.
She suggests trying to eat 30g of protein per meal. She says the fat may come off slower, but you’ll preserve muscle.
“Which is challenging because what those medications do is take away your appetite,” McGee said. “And it slows the digestion process so food stays in your system longer.”
