The agency posted a photo online showing counterfeit pills that contain fentanyl. Officials said even a very small amount of fentanyl can be deadly.

According to the sheriff’s office, law enforcement agencies across the United States have reported seizures of brightly colored tablets and capsules intentionally designed to resemble children’s vitamins or other supplements.

In recent cases, authorities have also recovered pills shaped like cartoon-style logos.

Deputies urge people never to take pills or supplements that a licensed medical professional did not prescribe. They also encourage parents to talk with their children about the dangers of taking unknown substances.
