In “Monaco,” Bad Bunny delivers a line that says it all: “Sofía Vergara es linda, pero es más linda en persona” (“Sofía Vergara is beautiful, but she’s even more beautiful in person”). After decades in the spotlight, from Modern Family to her iconic turn in Griselda, Sofía Vergara has made radiant skin part of her signature. We asked the actress and Toty founder what’s behind it. Along with her skin-care line, she shared the in-office treatments she turns to most.

What’s your favorite in-office treatment right now?

“I love treatments that really work but still respect my skin. As I get older, I’m very intentional about choosing procedures that keep my skin looking fresh, tight and healthy—never overdone. Professional microneedling is one of my favorites because it helps improve texture, boost glow and keep my skin smooth and youthful. For my rosacea, the VBeam laser has been a game changer. It helps calm redness and even out my skin tone, which is so important when you’re constantly in front of cameras. I trust my dermatologist to know what my skin needs and to always keep things looking natural.”

What inspired you to create Toty, and how does it reflect your approach to beauty?

“I grew up in Barranquilla, Colombia, where life is very tropical and being in the sun was just part of our culture. We were always at the beach and always tanning, and no one ever talked about sun protection back then. It wasn’t until I was older, in the ’90s, when I was reading magazines about SPF and sun damage, that something clicked for me. I stopped tanning my face completely and became very serious about taking care of my skin.

Toty was born from that evolution and my experience with sun care. It shaped my entire approach to beauty and the idea that it should be simple, protective and long-term. This shift became even more meaningful when I became a mother and started viewing care and well-being through a more thoughtful, future-minded lens.”

How has your beauty routine evolved over the years?

“Well, for one, I apply sunscreen a lot more than I used to and in more places. I used to limit it to my face, but now I make sure to prioritize my hands, neck and décolletage. Now that I’m older, my routine isn’t just about protecting my skin; it’s about repairing the damage I did in the past. The Toty Reversa Retinol Serum ($89) is a staple for me because it helps smooth fine lines and wrinkles, restore bounce and brighten, so it actually looks healthier and more radiant. I love trying new products, and although my ‘look’ hasn’t necessarily changed, I’ve become more selective about what truly works for me.”

If you had to pick one Toty product you can’t live without, what would it be?

“I use the Ilumina Creamy Compact SPF 50+ ($56) in shade 4N all day, every day. Since SPF should be reapplied often, I layer it throughout the day. I love that it’s tinted, so it doubles as a foundation and delivers flawless natural coverage.”

Latina beauty traditions are so strong. What lessons did you learn growing up?

Latina women have a deep love for beauty and take pride in presenting their best selves. Growing up, my mom and the other women in my life treated beauty with intention and care, which inspired me to do the same. I see beauty and fashion as powerful forms of self-expression, ways to celebrate who I am and how I want to show up in the world.”

What wellness habits help you feel your best?

“Sleep is so important! I used to be able to survive on a few hours, but now I take it much more seriously. I don’t look or feel good if I don’t get enough sleep.”

Is there a beauty ritual you miss when traveling or filming?

“The thing I miss most is being able to take my time with my routine. When I’m on set, everything is very scheduled and fast-paced, so I really miss those quiet moments. It’s not just about beauty or the look; it’s a moment of calm and grounding before the day begins.”
