COLUMBUS—The Hospital Foundation is inviting the community to step outside and get moving at its upcoming Wellness Walk & Talk at AdventHealth Polk. The event is scheduled for March 20 at 12:30 p.m. and will take place along the scenic Tom Raymond Memorial Fitness Trail, located behind the hospital.

Participants can look forward to a valuable afternoon that combines fitness with education. The event will kick off with a presentation by Scott McDermott, an occupational therapist and the hospital’s director of therapies. He will share essential tips on exercising safely, setting the stage for a guided walk around the trail’s half-mile loop.

The Tom Raymond Memorial Fitness Trail has been enhanced in recent years, thanks to support from the Ann Jacob Toms Fund at the Polk County Community Foundation. It now features eight outdoor fitness stations designed to help walkers improve their strength and flexibility, making it an ideal spot for both casual walkers and fitness enthusiasts

“We’re excited to bring people together for this event,” said Dave Scherping, Executive Director of The Hospital Foundation. “It’s a great opportunity for individuals to learn about safe exercise practices and connect with others who are also interested in improving their health.”
